Introduction
Converted attachments can be deleted to free up space. However, caution must be taken, as this step is irreversible. Before deleting converted attachments, the following mandatory steps must be followed:
- Validate all attachments have been converted
- Validate that references have been updated successfully
- Validate that on other applications/users in your org need the existing attachments
One the above is completed, you can use the following steps to delete the existing attachments and reduce your utilized storage space in your Salesforce org. You can also remove the 2 applications that were installed, as they are no longer needed.
- A. Delete Converted Attachments - this is irreversible. Proceed with caution.
- B. Uninstall Magic Mover - This is no longer needed.
- C. Uninstall TaroWorks File Conversion Package - This is no longer needed.
- D. Remove the 'Set Audit Fields upon Record Creation' permission - This is no longer needed.
- E. Unassign the Attachments and Notes Migrator Permission Set to Admins - This is no longer needed.
A. Delete Converted Attachments
- Click the App Launcher.
- Type "Attachments" into the search bar and Select Attachments to Files.
- Use the garbage can icon to delete converted attachments.
B . Uninstall Magic Mover
- Begin to type "Installed Packages" into the Quick Find and click on Installed Packages.
- Click Uninstall next to Magic Mover for Notes & Attachments.
- Click Yes I want to uninstall this package..
- Click Uninstall.
C . Uninstall TaroWorks File Conversion Package
- Begin to type "Installed Packages" into the Quick Find and click on Installed Packages.
- Click Uninstall next to TaroWorks File Conversion.
- Click Yes I want to uninstall this package..
- Click Uninstall.
D . Remove the 'Set Audit Fields upon Record Creation' permission
- Begin to type "User Interface" into the Quick Find and click on User Interface.
- Uncheck "Enable "Set Audit Fields upon Record Creation" and "Update Records with Inactive Owners".
- Click Save.
E . Unassign the Attachments and Notes Migrator Permission Set to Admins
- From Setup, enter "Permission Sets" in the Quick Find box, then select Permission Sets.
- Select the File Conversion Permission.
- Click on Manage Assignments.
- Check the checkbox next to the names and click Remove Assignment.
- Click OK at the prompt.
- Click Done.
- Delete Permission Set by clicking on Del.
- Click OK on the prompt that appears.
