A very common and very powerful use case in Salesforce is to create records which are related via lookup or master-detail relationships. TaroWorks support a wide range of data structures and use cases. (Please see the Advanced Field Mapping Guide how to map the these common cases.) Regardless the specific situation, the flow for mapping related objects are basically the same. Here is an example using Contact and Account objects (which is related to Account via lookup):
- Click the Add button. (Green Arrow)
- Note that a new row has appeared under Contact. (Red Box).
- Choose Account in the Object droplist.
- Note that the row has been renamed as “Account”.
- Note that in the Account row and under the Contact column a link Set Relationship has appeared.
- A popup box appears with all the possible relationship to choose from. (This changes depending on the objects being linked.)
- Check the box to let TaroWorks know which relationship you wish to create.
- Click Done to save. Click Cancel to discard changes.
- Note that the relationship has been saved. (Green arrow.) Click Change to change or cancel the relationship in this survey.
- Account objects have text fields as names (instead of autonumber), so map the Account name to the appropriate question (red box) in the Account column (blue box).
- If you wish to create / update an Account record, map those questions to the fields in the Account column.
- NOTE: If Account is simply to be used as reference, check the Is reference object and set the Id Field to Account Name.
