Often it is desirable to create/update multiple records of the same object within one job run. For example you may want to register multiple people at the same event, or log multiple sales against the same store.
Repeat sections can save you a great deal of time by only repeating questions that can change to create these repeated objects. TaroWorks is flexible and it permits the creation of multiple child records sharing the same parent record or with different parent records. (See above for more information on related objects)
The flow for mapping repeated objects is the same, with some important caveats:
- A repeated object may have its fields mapped to any normal section but only to one repeated section.
- Fields for all records from a single job run for a repeated object will share the same value if those fields are mapped to questions in normal sections.
- If the object name for the repeated object is a text field, the question that map to the name must be within a repeated section. No need for special attention if the repeated object name is an autonumber field.
