When someone new joins your organization that will be creating jobs and forms, managing users and performance, or doing any other TaroWorks tasks in the back-end, you can create a user with either a System Admin or TaroWorks User profile. The System Admin profile will inherently have access to everything. The TaroWorks User profile will have access to all the TaroWorks object necessary to do TaroWorks work in Salesforce, in addition to access to any custom objects and fields that you have added to the profile. This article will cover the following topics:
- A. Create a User Account - Create credentials for a user to enter at http://login.salesforce.com.
- B. Grant the User a TaroWorks license- all TaroWorks users must be assigned a license in order to use the application.
A. Create a User Account
- Click Setup in top right corner.
- Navigate to Administer > Manage Users > Users.
Tip: Type 'Users' in the Quick Find on top left below the menu. - Click New User.
- Enter the following fields:
First Name First Name of User Last Name Last Name of User Alias Shorthand for User Email Email Address for User (used for resetting passwords) Username Username in form of email address (must be unique to Salesforce) Nickname Nickname for User Role (Depends on your organization) User License Salesforce Profile System Administrator or TaroWorks User Active Checked - Click Save.
- An email will be sent to the address in the email field to set up a password.
B. Grant the User a TaroWorks License
- Click Setup in top right corner.
- Navigate to App Setup > Installed Packages.
Tip: Type 'Installed' in the search bar above the menu. - Click Manage Licenses (red box) next to the TaroWorks package.
- Click Add Users (green box).
- Click the Profile header (red arrow) to sort Users. Check the boxes (red boxes) next to Users in the Action column. Click Add (green box).
Tip: Use Create New View to set filters that you will reuse.
Tips and Tricks:
- You can return here and remove licenses from inactive users and reassign them to others.
- Unchecking the Active box stops that user from connecting to Salesforce.
